It's Been Awhile

So... WOW. Its been soooo long since I've written a new post on our family blog (SORRY!). To be honest its been soooo hectic, I havent found the time until now. So many things have happened in the past couple of months, I'll try to fill you all in as best as I can.....

*Jason got a new truck (chevy 4x4 truck), its amazing. Perfect room for our family, looks awesome & the price was RIGHT. However the engine was not so right. Yup.. believe it or not the engine BLEW UP.. LITERALLY the day after it was paid off. What are the odds? But seeing we got this bad ass truck for only 4 grand, we are willing to get a new engine. It's $1500 for the engine(which jason will put in himself!).. so really were still paying no more than 6 grand for the whole truck even with a new engine... CANT COMPLAIN. We are getting the engine soon.. so i'll keep you posted.

*We had a flood happen at our house. Yup.. a flood & a fire all in one year (haha our luck is amazing!!). But really, it was a blessing in disguise. Even though we lived without some flooring for awhile, the results of our new floors are GREAT. We have amazing tile in our kitchen (Much better than that vinyl crud), and we have all new carpet throughout the house, its a REALLY nice dark shaggy carpet that I wanted. Im starting to notice a pattern with us. Something horrible with happen.. but it always turns out to be a blessing. Awesome :)

*I can't believe how big Landon is getting. He turned a year old on June 12th and it just doesnt stop there. He's crawling eveywhere and pretty much walking. Hasn't got the walking down 100% but hes standing on his own and taking a couple steps here & there. He's saying words like mama, dada, hi, bye, papa, kitty. He waves bye bye and gives kisses. He plays games, feeds himself, runs around the house like a hyper monkey & has the greatest sense of humor ever (deff. got that from his daddy!). As he's getting older we are able to do more things with him. So far we've taken him to MotorFest(car show), 4th of July BBQ's, the zoo, bike rides, boating on my parents boat, & we even had our 1st family camping trip a couple days ago. I love being a mommy & it's only getting more & more fun by the day.

*Jason is still working with CTR & is working his butt off. They sent him to some classes to get certified, which we were so happy & thankful for. I am still working at The Athletic Training Center & still dropping weight. I currently decided I am going back to school this fall to....... BOISE STATE UNIVERSITY. I got accepted (I knew getting good grades in highschool would pay off!). I start at the very end of August & I am going to get my Masters in Elementary Education. It's going to be a hard & long journey, but I have faith.

*Our friends Kim & Ricky moved up here to Idaho from San Diego. It's nice to have familiar faces around. We opened up our home to them for about 2 1/2 months until they got on their feet. They recently just moved into their own home and are doing fine. They are both really good friends to us & we are soo happy to have them here in Idaho :)

We are so blessed & so happy with everything that has happened to us here in Idaho. We of course miss everyone in California, but you guys are always on our thoughts and in our hearts. Our family will continue to grow, learn & go through obsticals that will only make us stronger. It's been an amazing ride so far, & I can't wait to see what else is in store.

Little Gym

Last Thursday Landon started his 1st day at The Little Gym. It's an amazing place where parents take their children once a week to work on their motor skills and social skills in a fun way.

I thought this would be a great idea, seeing that Landon is at that akward age, 7 1/2 months old. He want's to do soo much and get's bored sitting inside, but there's not much out there for kids his age to do. This place is sooo cool; they work with kids... ages 4 months old all the way until 6 years old. He is right now in the BUG class (4 months - 10 months).

Yesterdays class we focused on increasing physical stregnth, flexibility and coordination through gymnastic concepts. Landon did soo well, it was soooo cute :)

Once he becomes a BIRD (10 months - 19 months), we'll be able to go more than once a week. For now we go every Thursday at 11am - 12pm.

NEW YEAR, NEW START

HAPPY NEW YEARS!! It's been so long since I've written a blog; we have been so so busy here in Idaho. Jason has been working non stop and I have been working and taking care of the little one who has been extra needy lately. Jason & I also just got over a REALLY bad sickenss, so we were out of commission for awhile. No good! But were back and in action, so I thought I'd catch everyone up on what's been going on with us......

Jason has his 90 day review in a few days, and were hoping he get's a nice raise (cross your fingers!). We are very excited and anxious for that. With all the time and sweat he puts into this company, I would think they would reward him with a nice raise. We'll see though!!

As for me.. I've just been doing the same ol same ol.. working and taking care of my little man. For Christmas my grandma got me a REALLY nice sewing machine (since I lost my old one in the fire!). It's amazing; it's actually even better than my last one. And then I got to thinking, might as well use my hobby and my little extra time to use... I'm going to be starting my own fashion business. Launching a clothing line would be waaay too time consuming(I dont have all the time in the world!), and there's also too many competitors out there, so SCRATCH that idea. I was thinking(actually my mom was thinking!) to gear it towards dogs. Idaho is a BIG dog place, and i've talked to a few people(family & co-workers) and they say they can never find a good place to buy affordable/cute doggy scarfs. So I am going to start with that, and see where it takes me. I will be making a website, business cards, the works; and I will be setting up stands at different festivals/venues and all that fun stuff. My goal is to have the website, doggy scarves, and business cards all done by May. May is when the "See Spot Run" benefit is happening in Nampa, Idaho. That's where TONS AND TONS of pets and there owners come and walk for a cause. There's always a lot of stands of pet food, drinks, toys and apparal.

Never thought i'd be using my talent/hobby for DOGGY SCARFS(haha!), but we'll see how it goes. I figure start off little and if it gets big then I can expand. Its a great idea, affordable to start and not so time consuming. Wish me luck, & I'll keep you posted on it.

Christmas In San Diego

Jason, Landon & myself arrived into San Diego LATE Wednesday night around 10pm. We had an amazing time; it was soo nice to see all our family and friends. It sucks we were only there for 3 whole days; it's hard to fit quality time with everyone in such a short period. We spent 2 nights at Jason's mom's house and 2 nights at Jason's dads house. Then had an AMAZING Christmas at his Grandma's house where we saw everyone and watched the Chargers kick some major booty(woohoo!). So much fun!!
We came back home to tons of presents underneath our Christmas tree from my side of the family. It's safe to say that we got really spoiled this year(especially Landon!); thanks to jason's family and my family. Were very glad to be back home, in our own beds and what not... but we sooo didn't wan't to leave San Diego. It was hard saying goodbye.. AGAIN!! We'll be seeing most of you in Feb. for our family/friend Vegas trip, we can't wait for that :)

Teething & San Diego

As usual Landon started to chew on my fingers last week, and I discovered that the whole bottom of his gums are sharp. I guess that explains all those recent sleepless nights. Landon is getting so much more fun as he get's older... so much more personality. BUT teething is not the fun part, at all. I feel so bad for him when he cries out in pain, oh well. This too shall pass!!

On a brighter note, WERE COMING TO SAN DIEGO NEXT WED. THE 23RD!!! We are soooooo excited, I just can't wait. Our plane lands around 10pm on Wed. night and we take off that Sunday after Christmas at 3pm. I cannot wait to spend time with all family & friends, I think this time will be a lot more enjoyable than last time in August when we came. It was REALLY hard to travel around with a 2 month old... but this time It'll be a lot easier because he's a lot more independant & fun.
ANYWAYS, Can't wait to see you all, 7 more days :)

Da Da

Landon has been talking up a storm lately, of course he's not saying anything specifically, just a bunch of jibber jabber baby talk. His favorite things to say are AGOOF, SSSS, & OH.. whatever that all means. haha!! However, 3 days ago out of nowhere he said perfectly loud and clear... DA DA!! He said it over and over again. I thought it was just his jibber jabber again, but he says it every day now a bunch of times. I don't know if it's just by mistake or if he actually knows what he's saying, but it's the cutest thing ever and Jason just glows in excitement when his little man says it.
The past 2 weeks Jason has been working hard NON STOP, i'm lucky if I even see him once at night before bed. And I know Jason's been missing Landon like crazy; he's lucky if he gets in 20 minutes with Landon twice a week. I wonder if Landon realizes this and misses his DA DA, which is why the all of a sudden DA DA talking!? who knows, but we love it and it's soo stinkin' adorable. Now time to work on MA MA :)

1st Snow In Idaho

I woke up this morning to find snow covering all of Idaho. I love it, it's so pretty looking. I took Landon outside in his winter gear and played with him in the snow, he liked it. He ate the snow, played with it, and even made snow angels without even realizing it, haha. I didn't think I would enjoy living in the snow, but its amazing. Makes the holidays that much greater :)

Yummy Yum Yum

After a few days of Landon spitting out his rice formula, i've realized he's no longer interested in eating out of his bottle. He now only wants regular formula & juice to drink, and then want's actual meals throughout the day. What a big boy he is!! So I now feed him 3 big meals a day; which usually includes baby rice, mashed up bananas, potatoes, sweet potatoes and of course all his assortment of baby food. He'll be 6 months old in 9 days(which is usually the time babies start wanting to eat food!), so I guess he's right on track. He's such a chunky monkey already, I hope he starts crawling soon... so he can work off all this new food I am feeding him. haha. Aaah man, he's growing up too fast, make it stop!

Turkey Day

Thanksgiving was a success this year at my mom & dad's house. Thanksgiving included, my mom & dad, myself, Jason, Landon, & another couple(friends of my parents). We had the usual 4 course thanksgiving meal, and it was sooo yummy. I ate so much, i thought i was going to explode. We set up Landon's high chair between Jason and I, he ate with the big kids :) He loved it. He had some mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and brocoli. He ate sooo much that the little guy had to take a nap in between courses, haha! The night ended with yummy drinks, dessert, and a fun poker game.
I am extremley thankful for all my family & friends; I am so blessed to have all you wonderful people in my life. I AM even more thankful for my boys (jason & landon!), they're amazing, and I can't wait for many more Thanksgivings with them.

Always And Forever

Today is Me and Jason's 1 yr. anniversary, and WOW that went by fast. I remember when we first met; we caught eachother's eye, but nothing happened & nothing was said. The 1st time we actually hung out was with a few of our mutual friends at the bowling alley, and that's when I knew he would be mine forever, hehe. We have been together for a total of 4 years, and what a 4 years it has been. It hasn't been easy at all; there's been break ups and makeups, fun times & laughter. There's been tears and pain, and romance and giggles. But overall, It's been absolutely amazing!

Just in this past year of marriage, Jason and I have been through sooooo much. Not only did we get married, but we had baby Landon, we moved to Idaho, we left our jobs & got new ones AND we lost everything in that horrible fire. In the past 4 years, we have been through some stuff that take couples a life time to experience(Or not at all!). And all I know is; if our love for one another can survive this past year, than we can survive ANYTHING. 1 year down, and many many many more years to come :)

Happy Birthday To Me!!!!

Happy Birthday to me!! Goodbye to 23, and hello to 24. Jason & I made some friends here in Idaho and they decided to take me out for my bday. We went bar hopping in downtown Boise, while my mom had Landon for the night (thanks mom!). Anyways, the boys didnt feel like drinking after all (shocker!) and decided to let the girls have some fun... so they went home and played some madden on xbox (Lame!) and then picked us up when we called them; so they can be our desinated drivers (thanks boys!). We had a blast. Started at Hannah's ( New fav. bar!), and went to 2 other places, where i got free shots of skittles. I got Alicia hooked on AMFS ( my drink!), and we got pretty drunk (mission accomplished!). The night ended around 2:30am and I had to work the next morning 8am - 2pm. The mornings after always SUCK, but an athlete from my work brought me in a birthday burrito (great hangover food!). Overall, great birthday :)

Halloween Was A Success; Happy November!

As most of you know the little guy was a Monkey this year for Halloween. He's a little over 4 1/2 months old, and there wasn't much we can do this year for him (no trick-or-treating, no haunted houses!). So I researched online and found out about the Farmstead Halloween Festival here in Idaho. To make a long story short, I worked saturday until 2pm, and we didnt leave our house until 5pm. When we got there, the petting zoo was gone, and it pretty much died down. We decided to turn around and do something else.

We ended up going to downtown Meridian, and look at all the shops. We got a few things, and then went out to Applebees for some Halloween din din. Landon was a PERFECT monkey all evening, no fits, he was happy as can be.

We came back home, put the little monkey to bed, while mom & dad cuddled and fell asleep to scary movies. Overall, Halloween this year was a success! Next year will be even more fun for us and Landon.

Ps. Happy November, our clocks went back.. don't forget :)

Autumn In Idaho Is Amazing

I said I would take pictures of lil Landon in a pile of leaves, & that's exactly what I did. Just couldn't resist seeing the big pile of leaves that just fell from the tree in our backyard; total picture opportunity. Of course happy baby Landon enjoyed every minute of it & was also very curious; disecting ever leaf he came across. haha!! Pictures turned out adorable, I love autumn time. The leaves turned crazy colors; from yellow, orange & red, to even dark purple & bright pink. It's incredible!

Not only that, but this time every year, I go out and stock up on Pumpkin Spice scented candles... which I LOVE!! MmMMm.. makes the house smell soo good.

Halloween is in less than a week & I am soo excited. It will be Landon's 1st, and Jason & I's 1st as parents. Landon is going to be a monkey this year; I still have to go out and buy him his banana. I really hope Landon will be able to stay up late Halloween night and enjoy what we have in store for him :)

Pumpkin Carvings

Jason & I decided to carve our pumpkins last night (not too sure if our pumpkins will hold up over the next 2 weeks till Halloween, we'll see!). It was Landon's 1st pumpkin carving; he had no idea what was going on, but he seemed VERY interested in what we were doing. We gave hime some pumpkin goo to play with, and he watched mommy & daddy carve away. Jason of course made a spooky pumpkin, a carving of the Grim Reaper. Turned out amazing. And I made a pumpkin for Landon, it's a carving of Mickey Mouse; seeing that he LOVES the Mickey Mouse Club Cartoon. Not too spooky, but it works. They both turned out pretty dang good.

You can't tell in the pictures, but on the other side of the Mickey Mouse pumpkin, there's an attempted carving of SpongeBob Square Pants; let's just say he has no legs and it's quite INTERESTING. haha! OH well, mommy's no pumpkin carving master & I like how Mickey turned out.

Anyways, the pumpkin carvings took awhile to do ( I forgot how much work it actually was!), and of course Landon's attention spand is the size of a pea. So he fell asleep in his walker, and I had to carry him off to bed. I guess watching pumpkins being carved is hard work. hehe. Can't wait until Halloween; Landon's going to be a monkey this year!!

Baby Fat

I weighed myself last night at work & I had to weigh myself twice just to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. I am officialy back down to my original weight before I got pregnant, I am so excited. I know I lost a lot of weight, but I didnt know I lost it all.

It took me 4 months, but I have been working my butt off eating healthy(I changed my eating habbits entirely; it's life changing, not just a little diet!). And I occasionally worked out; but if I want to lose more weight & tone up my flabby post preggo tummy, I must hit up the gym often. It DOES help that I now work at a gym & I get a free membership; which means I can work out before or after work(much more convenient!).

So I just wanted to share my excitement with you all on my recent weight lose :)

Another Job Update!!

I received a phone call today from the job I originally wanted very badly; at The Athletic Training Center here in Boise, Idaho. It's a big facility, and they train all types of athletes. From men who are trying out for Boise State football team to PRO football players (like San Diego Charger, Legedu Naanee!). I will be a front desk/receptionist there, working part time, and making a lot more money than I would at Kohls. I start tomorrow, and I am so very excited. So I have to get on the phone right now and call Kohls, and tell them.. thanks, but no thanks for the job offer!! (there goes my %50 off, dang it. haha!)

Yaaaaay, I got the job I wanted... wish me luck :)

Splish Splash In His Big Boy Bath!!

It's official, Landon no longer fits in our kitchen sink. So it left me no choice but to put him into the big bath tub. I was kind of nervous at first, I wasn't sure if he would like it at all. But boy was I wrong, he absolutely LOVES IT!! He tries to eat all the bubbles, he splashes around, he giggles, he screams, he kicks; it's pretty hilarious. I'll have to get a video of it sometime and post it up on here, sooo funny.

Anyways, I am happy the big boy bath turned out good... Landon is such a happy baby, and so easy to please! No complaints :)

Job Update!

As some of you know, after a couple months of job hunting, Jason got a job about 2 1/2 weeks ago, and he LOVES IT. He works for a company called, Cleanup & Total Restoration (CTR), here in Boise Idaho. They go out and restore buildings, homes, wherehouses, ect., from flood damage, fire damage, and all that good stuff. Jason says its something new & exciting every day, and the guys he works with are awesome. I am so happy for him, and so proud.

Now that Jason is off at work monday - friday 6am to 6pm, and no longer at home; I notice little Landon misses his daddy. You should see Landon's face when daddy comes home. His face lights up and he is just full of giggles, its too cute. In fact, just tonight Landon got really upset with me when I tried to pull him away from his daddy. I think by 6pm, he's over haning out with mommy, haha. It's ok, because I have my little bubbus, my monkey butt, my little man, all day..... so it's only fair that I share him :)

As for me, finding a part time job where I can work night shifts and weekends only, is actually harder than I thought. I've had many interviews, so we'll see......

Well im off to bed, nighty night.

Fall Is Officially Here

Out of nowhere, Fall decided to show up without no warning. It was summer; bright and very hot. Then all of a sudden, the cold air started blowing and the leaves started changing. I am actually very excited to experience all 4 seasons, im not used to that. And I heard that it's very beautiful here in Idaho, so we shall see :)

Landon and I went on our usual scheduled walk today; but it was so cold that Landon was getting very cranky. So mommy had to make the walk short. But I still got some cute pictures of Landon in his stroller before he decided to throw a fit. Now I can dress the little man up in his fall/winter clothes before they don't fit anymore. very happy about that!! Well keep posted because I am just waiting to find a big pile of beatiful autumn leaves here; so I can put Landon in them and take pictures. Man, having a baby sure turns you into a picture-o-holic :)

It's All About Baby Steps

Yesterday was just a normal ol' day with Landon; so I thought. We woke up, fed him, gave him a bath and he watched his usual morning cartoons; while mom made coffee and took a shower. Afterwards, I brought my little man to his changing table to of course, change him. When i'm all done and he's all clean i sit him up with one on my hands supporting him, while my other hand was throwing away his dirty diaper in his diaper genie(which i LOVE by the way, couldn't live without that thing!). And when I look back up, little Landon doesn't even need my hand to support him, it looks like he is sitting up all on his own, so I take my hand away. AND WOOOHOOO!!! Landon is sitting up all by himself, for a good minute or two straight. I was shocked, I think I even let out a happy shout, haha.

Well of course, I thought this was a one time thing and no one would believe me seeing as he is only 3 1/2 months old... and for a 3 1/2 month old to sit up by themselves is pretty incredible.

So i tested out Landon's sitting abilities when Jason got home from work. And WOOOHOOOO again, he did it, and this time for a good 5 minutes straight, it was amazing. Jason couldn't believe it either. There was even one moment where Landon looked like he was going to fall over to his right side, but nooo... we waited to see what he would do, and he stopped himself with his right arm/hand and proped back up. It's craziness I tell you. It seems soo simple, a baby sitting up on his own. But it's funny how excited parents get over those simple things that their child does. Landon's sitting isn't perfected, he leans a little forward and wobbles from time to time, but thats why they say, "practice makes perfect."

So of course we had to take pictures of this whole experience.....

ok!! It get's better (for me anyways!)... Not only is Landon starting to sit up on his own. BUT ITS OFFICIAL, he is sleeping throughout the night now, and I couldn't be happier about that. He usually goes to bed anywhere from 9:30pm-10:30pm, and he wakes up anythere from 7:00am-8:30am. Mommy can finally get her beauty sleep, yay :) Thanks kiddo.

2) What time does your family eat dinner every night?	Landon eats every 3 - 4 hours. Jason & I usually eat din din around 6:30/7pm
3) Family activites?	Jason & I enjoy wakeboarding on my parents boat together. We also enjoy watching football & movies with our baby boy, and also taking lil Landon on walks and swimming.
4) Who has the coolest room in the house?	Deffinately Landon has the coolest. But mom & dad have the more spacious room :)

6) Families favorite foods?	Landon loves his rice milk & Gerbers pear juice. Jason & I are not picky, we love making tacos :)

Time flies by...

Today Landon is exactly 3 months old, and I can't believe how fast it went by. Not only that, I am amazed on how much knowledge he has gained and how much he has grown in just 3 months. It's quite amazing! Jason & I were looking at pictures of when he was born; & it boggles my mind not only how different he looks, but how different he acts. He's becoming my little man :)

Picture Perfect, Temper Tantrums

So the other day my mom and I took Landon & my nephew, Nick, to get professional pictures done at JC Penny Portraits. It was an interesting experience, to say the least.
So figures, my son giggles and smiles all the time, he never stops. But when it came to his picture being taken the other day, he just didn't want to put on his happy face. I think it had something to do with a strange lady making noises in his face with bright lights and a strange camera. Both Nick & Landon kind of looked at the photographer like a deer caught in headlights. It was pretty funny actually. And after about 15 minutes of picture taking, they were completley over it. I dont blame them!! Nick began to arch his back and throw a fit, and Landon decided to throw up all over his new outfit (notice the spit up in some of the pictures!).
But then it got more interesting. After the picture taking we had to decide on WHAT pictures we wanted and WHAT package we wanted. That took forever and a day to decide; seeing that we got a "new girl" employee who didn't know what the heck she was doing. The babies didn't like that too much either, they don't have the longest attention spans ya know? So my mom held Nick while trying to figure out what pictures we want, and he fell asleep in 5 minutes or so. So Nick wasn't too bad. BUT LANDON, man oh man. He was not happy, he wanted to leave right away. I tried holding him and giving him his pacifier, but he just took the pacifier and threw it across the room. It bounced off the trash can, and went clear across the room on the ground. The ladies were laughing, it was a little embarassing, but that's my son for ya. So after spending an hour figuring out what pictures we what and what package we were getting... we left. And Nick & Landon were pretty happy about that.
I think we won't be getting their pictures done for awhile, at least until they're 1 yrs. old.

Bloggin' It up

So I never understood this whole "blog" thingy, but im starting to grasp the whole concept of it. It's a great way for Jason, Landon &I to keep all our family & friends posted on our activities & photos. NOT everyone has a myspace & facebook that we know. So it only makes sense to BLOG :)
So here it is, our 1st blog... and really, we have not much to say. Other than that....were just getting things settled here in Idaho. We just moved into our new home in Meridian, ID; and we love it. Everything seems to be working out in our favor. Jason is still searching for job (so keep your fingers crossed) and as for me... I decided I wanted to go back to work & work part time. Not only to get back into the "work life", but I need to make some extra income for our family. Money doesn't grow on trees, I finally just figured that one out.
Anyways, keep an eye out for new blogs and updates... i'll try my best to keep everyone posted as best as I can. We miss everyone in California, we think about you all always. xoxo
